1970s

Itzar Cohen & Alphabeta (Winners 1978)

The top four countries of the 60s all maintained their form into the 70s but were trumped at the very last by a debutant. Israel sent their first song in 1973 but by the end of the decade had notched up consecutive winners in Itzar Cohen and Milk & Honey.  Two of the other debutants this decade, Malta and Turkey had far less auspicious results.
